Meet our team

Lee Johnson

Owner / Lead Trainer

Born in West Bromwich, United Kingdom, where my parents still closely reside. As a career before dogs I was a competitive Flair bartender. I luckily found a skill, that turned into a hobby, that turned into work, that turned into competition, culture and a way of life for me. As someone that enjoyed interacting and connecting with  folks from all walks of life, creating an individual experience with the skills I learnt as jet set bartender, translated perfectly to being able to connect and help people with their furry ones.

I've visited and competed in numerous countries around the world while enjoying the lifestyle of pretty much following the sun. The cold was not my friend....until I found Tahoe and Skiing. I now love and appreciate all seasons as much as the next. Me and my dogs love the sun and snow all the same.

I've been training dogs professionally since 2018. Originally only working and handling behaviorally euthanasia listed and dogs to now having a wide variety of pet and sport clients. I've also been a certified decoy in the sport of PSA (Protection Sports Association) for 4 years in which I've been lucky enough to travel to numerous states across the country. I'm a lover of all dog sports especially if the handler is committed and dedicated to putting their dogs first.

Over the years I've studied and learnt from people I look up to in the industry. Whether it be from working alongside like minded folk or fully seasoned veteran trainers with everyone in between, I've always tried to keep the student mindset.

I answered the phone at work on a Monday, the conversation originally started about another dog in the household they’d like to train. Briefly mentioning that they had another dog but it was going put to sleep on Thursday due to toxic behaviors. I took him from that home 3 days later. Fast forward 3 years,  1 completed board and train, 2 potential new homes, and countless times helping me with lessons; he’s turned into quite the motivated, socially neutral dog.

He’s a great testament to letting a dog be a dog without expectations and no pressure for him to achieve.

The dog that taught me what I know and gave me the reason to be a better trainer on the daily for her. I was inexperienced when I raised her from a puppy, rewarding and reinforcing all the things I now know were detriment to my goals and ultimately our relationship. She has proved that with putting her mental state first with all my expectations, she exceeds them in every way possible. She is my heart dog, never to replicated or replaced.

She currently trains in PSA (Protection Sports Association) and holds her PDC title.

He had a story worth mentioning when I first got him. A poor upbringing without much structure allowed him to learn some unfavorable behaviors at an early age. He'd unfortunately learnt how to use his teeth to get things, while also having massive aversion and superstitious traits around food. Definitely not an ideal pet for the home we has first placed in. Fast forward to now where he's had a stable structured home and he's become quite the buddy of mine.

We have some lofty goals to work towards using newer techniques I wish I'd known with Merci.
